Hair Care
Washing
Clip-in hair extensions do not get as dirty as your regular hair. You will want to wash the hair as infrequently as possible; the less you wash the longer they will last.
Do not use a shampoo or conditioner that is “volumizing.” This will cause the hair to mat and tangle. Salon quality ”detangling” shampoos and conditioners are recommended.
Instructions for washing:
1) First remove all tangles using a wide toothed comb.
2) Use a mild “detangling” shampoo only. Run the hair under warm water and gently work a small amount of shampoo into the hair using downward strokes from the weft to the ends. Do not twist or scrub hair.
3) Rinse hair thoroughly.
3) Using a ”detangling” conditioner; gently work into the hair using downward strokes from the weft to the ends. Leave on for 3-5 minutes.
4) Rinse thoroughly with warm water. It is important to completely rinse all prodcuts from the extension; residue from shampoo and conditioner may cause matting.
5) Gently towel blot to remove excess water.
6) Spray with a leave-in conditioner. Starting in small sections at the ends; hold the hair above the area you will be combing firmly and hold the hair while moving a large toothed comb down from the grip towards the ends. Repeat until all of the hair is tangle free. Use caution; rough, hard strokes can pull or break the hair from the weft.
7) Close clips and lay flat on a towel to air dry. You may blow dry your hair; however, air drying the hair extends the life of the extensions.
Brushing
Always keep your extension tangle free; brushing gently and avoiding any excess root tension.
In-between washes
To keep your extensions fresh in-between washes; use a high quality flattening iron. The flattening iron will restore the extensions; removing previous styles and curls to bring the hair back to straight and glossy.
We highly recommend using the flattening iron method verses washing as long as possible.
Styling
You can curl, flat iron and blow dry just as your own hair. Avoid high heat and harsh brushing.
Storing the extensions
Hidden Hair extensions can be stored in a plastic bag.
